First Entry: Who I Am and Why I Am Here

For weeks, I have been thinking about starting a blog until I came across WordPress which looks interesting and user-friendly to me. Since I created an account yesterday, I have been spending time customizing it although as you can see, there’s not much difference. I still feel unsatisfied with my blog. Then, a question popped into my mind, “Why do I even want a blog?”.

You see, I’m not a traveler or a photographer. I don’t have any specific hobbies that I can share some tips with or brag about. So, what am I doing here? Well, I just want to write. I must admit I’m not very good in writing stories or poems but I like to write about my personal experiences and thoughts. Kinda narcissist? Yeah, I thought about it. I mean, who will read my blog? I’m not a celebrity.

Then, I see today’s assignment on my news feed. It says, “You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.” I saw comments below the article and read some posts from other newbies. Reading their posts encouraged me to write my own, too. They are not celebrities and yet I enjoy reading their entries so why shouldn’t I?

Let me introduce myself. My name is Wax. I’m a public high school teacher, frustrated songwriter, Christian and currently in a long-distance relationship. As of now, I have no idea where this blog is going but I will try to keep it updated. Expect some posts about my daily experiences and articles on random topics. Hopefully, other people can relate to me and learn something as well.

If I blog successfully throughout the next year, that will be a great thing! I’m hoping to connect with people all over the world. So, if you are reading this right now, you just became a part of my blogging journey. Thanks. 🙂

Love your header, looks really great against your background. it’s actually a nice theme you’ve got going here.
I like the idea of faycristanto about having map and sticking a pin in it to see where all our blogging friends come from, you can stick a pin in southern Tasmania (south of mainland Australia) for me. 🙂

Thanks! I’m still not sure on my tagline though. I want to promote positivity in my blog. It just occurred to me yesterday. Haha. I like the idea of the map, too. Nice to know you’re from Australia. I used to work as a billing consultant for Telstra. That was when I was still waiting for my teaching job and that lasted for 9 months. So I was talking to Australians over the phone everyday for 9 months.

Great introduction! Your blog page is fabulous. I just started not too long ago as well. Simple yet confusing to attempt to learn on your own without some tips and tricks! I can’t wait to read more.

Your blog looks great! I have yet to publish something on mine, still trying to figure out how to organize it, etc. I’ll be sure to follow up on your writing! Blogging 101 seems be a good start for all of us who are new at this!

Can’t wait to here about your life. I have many Teacher friends and some of the stuff they tell me about their kids is great for a laugh or keeping up my hope in humanity so I am sure you can get great posts out of some of your days in the class room.
