Life Soundtrack: My Life in 15 Minutes

Switchfoot is the official artist on this episode of my Life Soundtrack. πŸ™‚ They are one of my favorite bands!

Stars (Opening Song)

Maybe I’ve been the problem, maybe I’m the one to blame
But even when I turn it off and blame myself, the outcome feels the same
I’ve been thinking maybe I’ve been partly cloudy, maybe I’m the chance of rain
Maybe I’m overcast, and maybe all my lucks washed down the drain

But when I look at the stars, I see someone else
When I look at the stars, I feel like myself

Stars looking at our planet watching entropy and pain
And maybe start to wonder how the chaos in our lives could pass as sane
I’ve been thinking bout the meaning of resistance, of a hope beyond my own
And suddenly the infinite and penitent begin to look like home

If my life was a movie, it will start with this track and it will be the main theme song. Well, it’s because I love stars! πŸ™‚ But not only that. The first verse speaks about what I usually feel but everytime I look at the stars, like what the chorus said, I remember God and that He’s there for me. From above, the stars see how I live in a world of chaos.

Dare You to Move (Climax)

I dare you to move…
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move…
Like today never happened before

And when the time comes I fall down to the ground, this song would play… I really sing these lines everytime I need to motivate myself to be strong and to move on… (Hey, I posted my cover of this song here: To my fans–)

This is Home (Closing Credits)

I’ve got my memories
Always inside of me
But I can’t go back
Back to how it was
I believe you now
I’ve come too far
No I can’t go back
Back to how it was
Created for a place I’ve never known

This is home
Now I’m finally where I belong
Where I Belong
Yeah, this is home
I’ve been searching for a place of my own
Now I’ve found it
Maybe this is home

This song is again from The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I discovered this song right after we left the place I used to live in for 22 years of my life. It was also my last year of teaching for my first job where I made a lot of friends and loved my students. It’s always hard to leave what you could call home but I know I am meant to be in a different/better place. When I contemplated more on the lyrics, I realized it’s more about my faith. Either way, I love this song and I get an unexplainable feeling everytime I hear it.

Please consider listening to all of these songs if you haven’t heard of them. πŸ™‚
