Wands? Broomsticks? Invisibility Cloak? Yes, I’m talking about Harry Potter’s wizarding world. There are actually a lot of things that I want to experience in real life from this fictional book but if I could only choose three things, they would be the following:
“So the boggart sitting in the darkness within has not yet assumed a form. He does not yet know what will frighten the person on the other side of the door. Nobody knows what a boggart looks like when he is alone, but when I let him out, he will immediately become whatever each of us most fears.“
—Professor Lupin to his Third year class in 1993[src]
I’m afraid of a lot of things… I’m afraid of rats, heights, drowning (I don’t know how to swim), riding fast vehicles… I’m afraid to lose any part of my body, I’m afraid to lose someone, I’m afraid of darkness, I’m afraid of the unknown… I’m curious on what I’ll see when a boggart comes out from where it’s kept. But maybe, I’ll overcome these things and be stronger if I learn how to deal with them through this shape-shifting non-being.
2. The Mirror of Erised
Harry Potter: “It shows us what we want… whatever we want…”
Albus Dumbledore: “Yes and no. It shows us nothing more or less than the deepest, most desperate desire of our hearts.”
— Albus Dumbledore explaining to Harry Potter what the mirror does.[src]
Like the boggart, I’m just curious on what I’ll see on it. Will I see myself exactly as I am (means I’m happy) or will I see something else? What would be the deepest desire of my heart that I’m not aware of? Hehe.
Harry: “You mean… that stuff’s your thoughts?”
— Albus Dumbledore to Harry Potter[src]
