Award #3: One Lovely Blog Award

Hello, everyone! Wax’s World has been nominated for One Lovely Blog Award by three lovely people! *happy dance*

I want to thank these three awesome ladies who continually inspire me with their blogs…

  • Christina from lifebeinggirly. I have already mentioned her more than once on my posts and that’s because her blog is worth-sharing! Let’s celebrate with her for her first blogiversary. Visit her site and send her some love!
  • InΓͺs from Pretty Little Things. Her blog’s name is so cute, right? She also blogs about happy things and positivity which is why I admire her!
  • Jane Lorraine from Honoring our HAIRitage. Her blog is informative, insightful and inspiring! I have so much respect to this person.

Now, here are the rules for accepting the award:

  1. Thank and link to the amazing person who nominated you.
  2. List the rules and display the award.
  3. Share seven facts about yourself.
  4. Nominate 15 other amazing blogs and comment on their posts to let them know they have been nominated.
  5. Proudly display the award logo on your blog and follow the blogger who nominated you.

I am now accepting this award and here are seven facts about me. πŸ™‚

1. My real name is… Roannie (Pronounced as ro-wa’-ni). And it’s not a common name in the Philippines. What’s common though is naming children after both of their parents’ names. Yes, a combo! Haha. My mother’s nickname is Nora and my father’s is Annie. They just kinda jumbled Nora to Roan so my name wouldn’t sound that weird. Ahaha. Anyways, if I were born a boy, my nickname would still be Wannie. Speaking of which, can someone tell me why pictures of bathtubs pop up everytime I Google Search Wannie? And it’s the same with Instagram for #wannie.

2. I’m turning 26 this September but I still feel young. I’ve been teaching for 6 years (minus one year when I worked as a call center agent). The girl I’m with in this picture was my student five years ago. She’s now a teacher like me. πŸ™‚With Student

3. I sing at weddings but only for my family and friends.

wedding singers

I miss these people. We’re the singing teachers of my previous school. This is from my co-teacher’s wedding.

4. People used to tell me that I look like Charice. They stopped after Charice changed her look and came out as lesbian.

Louder Cover

Listen to my cover of her song Louder here:

5. I’m a very sentimental person. I keep a box full of letters and others stuff that have sentimental value for me.

I call this the "senti box" but my stuff can't fit into one box anymore.

6. Long shirts/blouses + leggings or jeggings + doll shoes = my usual outfit.

In this case, I’m wearing wedges because it was graduation day. Haha. There’s my faculty ribbon.

7. I love mangoes and anything mango-flavored food! But I don’t eat green mangoes.

mango shake

Mango shake for only ten pesos. And no, it’s not from Starbucks as what the cup suggests. Haha.

I nominate (in no particular order)…

YAY! Congrats on your award, Wax!! that’s so cool how your parents combined their nicknames to name you! =) If my husband and I were to do that, since people call me Tina/Tini, and his name is Ronnie, our baby name would be Rotina, or Rotini! LOL! Omg, that’s crazy about that Google Search!!! Soo weird!! You look nothing like a bathtub! heheehe

I also LOVE mangoes, but not the green kind! ❀ Thanks for accepting your award and I loved reading more about you, Wax! Take care! ❀

Haha. Maybe Rona is enough! :))) Maybe wannie is bathtub somewhere but I couldn’t figure out what country it is yet. Thanks for nominating me again and for remembering me!

  2. Maria Brinkley says:

Thanks so much! You know – 26 is still really young! You look great in your outfit – it’s a top look! And mangoes are my fav thing to eat – yummo! Thanks again for thinking of me and Congrats on your lovely blog! 😊

Congratulations and Thank you for the nomination. Really sorry for the super late response. But you really do look like Charice (from before she came out hehehe). Have you tried the carabao mangoes from Zambales? Some say it’s the sweetest variety.

    More power! πŸ™‚

    • Wannie says:

Hey, it’s okay! πŸ™‚ I’ve been gone for a while, too. πŸ™‚ I haven’t tried carabao mangoes but if I get a chance, I want to! πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing that!
