#SlamBookMillionaire

It’s been two weeks since my father passed away and I’m still not in the mood to blog much. However, I decided to keep going and entertain myself through blogging starting today.

I was nominated by AySabaw to answer these Slam Book questions. I loved answering and creating my own slam book when I was young so this sounded interesting to me but as I go along with the q’s, I was having a hard time answering them. Hmm. Now, I feel lazy but since she’s one of my fave bloggers, I’ll do this for her. ๐Ÿ˜›

Mr. Robin Williams, Thank You for the Smiles!

Robin Willims Quote Wax's WorldWe still mourn over the death of one of the beloved actors of our generation. Being a 90’s kid, I felt like I just lost one of my childhood heroes. It’s also quite surprising to know that he had taken his own life. He made us happy with his movies but little did we know that he was struggling from depression.

There are a lot of posts I’ve seen all over the internet about him and I’m going to share some of my favorites:

    • 8 Wonderful Robin Williams Movies That Defined Your Childhood from Cosmopolitan. It’s embarrassing to say but I’ve only seen few of his films. The most memorable ones are Hook and Bicentennial Man which was not even on the list but touched me anyway. I was supposed to write this post last night but I ended up watching Aladdin instead. I swear, it’s my first time to watch this 1992 Disney animation and I was so entertained. I felt like I was a child again. I won’t get tired of watching this all over again but I regret I didn’t do so when I was younger. Robin Williams movie marathon this week!
    • Farewell to Robin Williams by Dante Basco. Hook is certainly one my favorite movies when I was kid. I could memorize the lines and scenes by heart. You remember the punk kid Rufio? I was wondering where he is now. Well, I found him here on WordPress as he shared his thoughts and memories about the man.
    • My Father, Robin Williams and, Me from Hello Giggles. This girl’s essay just touched me.
    • His Instagram Account. You might have seen already that his last IG post was an old picture of himself with his daughter Zelda. *the feels*ย  It’s also nice to browse the other photos he posted.
    • This old YouTube video. Look how happy he was.

Goodbye, genie! Thank you for the smiles!Genie

What’s your favorite Robin Wiliiams film? I’m having a marathon this week!

The Great 8: Hotties of My 2006 List

I found my old journal and saw an incomplete list of hotties when I was 17. This might be a little embarrassing but I will not lie on what’s on the list. ๐Ÿ™‚ Eight years later, I try to analyze how I feel about them now.

1. Tom Welling.ย
Then: Well, Smallville was popular and who wouldn’t fall in-love with teenage Superman (although he was not really a teenager in real life that time)? Oooh. Look at that…

Tom WellingNow: He looks like a hot daddy…:) But he’s not a daddy yet as I’ve researched… Tom+Welling+Draft+Day+Premieres+LA+Part+4+pDaeFWTmyMml2. Tobey Maguire.
Then: I loved Spider-Man 1 & 2 (I don’t like 3) so maybe I was just attracted again to a teenage superhero (who was not really a teenager in real life… Oops, I think I already said that.)
Now: Everytime I hear his name, all I can think of are his funny face memes and GIFs. Poor Tobey.

3. Johnny Depp.
Then: I started to fall in-love with him since I was in grade school after seeing him as Edward Scissorhands.

Now: I don’t think he will be ever gone on my list. Heart heart!

Don’t be so sad, Johnny… I’m here.

4. Tyson Ritter.
Then: The All-American Rejects is one of my fave bands not only because of their songs but also because my bestfriends and I used to swoon over him and his bandmate, Nick Wheeler.
Now: I just find him so thin. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I still love AAR though!

5. Brandon Boyd.
Then: Yeah. I was into that scruffy rockstar look. And I love the band, Incubus!
Now: I just miss his semi-long curly hair. He’s more attractive when he was younger but I’m more into his music so he’s still hot.

6. Rupert Grint.
Then:
My friends and I have always loved him more than Daniel Radcliffe since the beginning of HP movies. Well, he’s funny and cute and a very good actor. I knew he could have other roles besides being Ron Weasley!
Now:ย
He’s only a month older than me so he’s still on my hot-meter.Rupert

7. Jude Law.
Then:
I dunno why he’s still on my list after the nanny issue. Haha. Well, I couldn’t help it, maybe?
Now:ย
I think he’s still alright except for the hairline. ๐Ÿ˜›Jude Law8. Danny Masterson.
Then:
I love Hyde from That 70’s Show. It was only 2006 when I started watching it. ๐Ÿ™‚
Now:ย
I still love Hyde from That 70’s Show!

I realized two things as I was creating this post: 1) Johnny Depp is the oldest on my list but he’s still attractive and 2) they love growing a beard.

I think I should make a 2014 list.

Who’s your old celebrity crush? Share it in the comments.

The Anywhere Door

Doko-Demo-DoaI wonder if you are familiar with this door. If you know who Doraemon is and actually grew up dreaming to have your own robotic cat from the future, then you have an idea about this gadget. Inside Doraemon’s infinite pouch are futuristic devices that I want to have. One of them is the Dokodemo Door or you can also call it the Anywhere Door. It allows you to go to any place by just going through it. If it’s open, you can still look at the view from the other side.

The Dokodemo door as seen in the 2014 movie, Stand By Me Doraemon

I always remember this everytime I’m going to be late for work. Or when it’s traffic and I cannot wait to go home. Or when I want to travel around the world. Or when I just like to have a real date with my LDR boyfriend. How I wish this door was real.

For the last four days, I’ve been too tired everytime I get home that I couldn’t keep up with my Writing 101 assignments. I really don’t like our new schedule. Today is Friday and my last period was from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. I’m now here in my room. My boyfriend’s not talking to me because he’s probably now asleep as it’s too late (in his time). It was too hot this afternoon but it’s raining hard now and it was also accompanied with the sound of thunder.

If I had the Dokodemo Door, I’ll go somewhere else where I can relax big time! The place I have in my mind right now is just a simple room with no walls, just a roof. In the middle of it is a hammock bed where I can sit and lie until I fall asleep. It’s raining but not hard and the sound of it heals my exhaustion. The trees around it dances to entertain me. The wind gently touches my face as it whispers, “Smile. It’s the start of your weekend…”

The hammock bed I want specifically. Photo from keep.com.

If you had the Dokodemo door, what places would you go to?

Life Soundtrack: Not Too Close With Dad

Perfect by Simple Plan

On my previous posts, I probably sounded like I’m a good daughter but to be honest, I’m not really close with my papang. I don’t hate him but our relationship is kinda like Eric with his dad from That 70’s Show. ๐Ÿ˜›

Hey dad look at me
Think back and talk to me
Did I grow up according to plan?
And do you think I’m wasting my time doing things I wanna do?
But it hurts when you disapprove all along

And now I try hard to make it
I just wanna make you proud
I’m never gonna be good enough for you
Can’t pretend that I’m alright
And you can’t change me

My father used to be a foreman overseas and he never really saw me growing up. When I was 15, he got malaria from Africa and he was sent home. He got well but he was not allowed to work again. I was not used to have him around for a long time. Being a teenager, I did what normal teenagers do. I didn’t have any vices but he’s not always happy with what I’m doing. I had more achievements than my siblings but I never heard from him once that he’s proud of me.

‘Cause we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I’m sorry
I can’t be perfect
Now it’s just too late and
We can’t go back
I’m sorry
I can’t be perfect

I’m still keeping the letter he wrote me when I was still eight years old. When I read it as an adult, it made me cried. The letter was full of love and yet I couldn’t feel it anymore

I try not to think
About the pain I feel inside
Did you know you used to be my hero?
All the days you spent with me
Now seem so far away
And it feels like you don’t care anymore

*emo moment*

Haha. Okay… At least now, our relationship is getting better but I think I won’t still be able to express any sweetness as a daughter… Maybe in subtle ways…
